Aurapenenta honors the fiftieth anniversary of the Association of Universities for Research in Astronomy, which transformed American astronomy through its stewardship of the National Optical Astronomy Observatory, the National Solar Observatory, the Gemini Observatory and the Space Telescope Science Institute.
