Weary after several weeks of non-stop activity in Gemini, Venus is only too happy to check out of the sign of perpetual motion and check into Cancer’s cozy household. As she turns off her iPhone and steps into a pair of comfy slippers, the goddess of love is eager to share some quiet times and hearty meals with friends and family.
Since her rulership of Taurus gives Venus an earthy side that relates well to home and hearth, she shares some of the Crab’s values including a need for financial security and a love of comfort food. Venus in Cancer will never be a domestic goddess like the Moon; the she-crab’s aprons just aren’t her style. Still, while she’s immersed in this domestic and family-oriented sign, she may yearn to redecorate her home or daydream about the pitter-patter of little feet. As a result, some of you may feel the urge to build or or add to your nest.
When it comes to love, Venus in Cancer is serious, steadfast and definitely in it for the long haul. The Crab is nothing short of tenacious, and while her devotion is admirable, while here Venus can be possessive and more than a bit clingy. Although she has the best intentions, her need to nurture and take care of her partner can make independent and self-sufficient types feel smothered. However, for those who share her level of commitment and appreciate her attention, love can last from here through eternity.
Besides values and love, Venus also rules money. Cancer is a frugal sign that thinks twice before splurging and believes in saving for a home, as well as for emergencies, retirement and numerous rainy days. Consequently, while Venus is here she’ll add to her savings and review her investments. When it comes to shopping, she’ll patiently comb through the sale racks and buy in bulk at warehouse stores.
Since Cancer also rules the past, Venus tends to be nostalgic whenever she visits the Crab. Likewise, during this time you may find yourself reminiscing about old friends and former flames. Just remember that if the past starts tapping on your shoulder or tugging on your heart, it’s perfectly fine to go back for a visit as long as you remember that memory lane tends to be littered with selective memories.
