It is an astrological fact that you ideally look like your ascendant. A.k.a. your rising sign. If you know your time of birth, this is very easy to establish via Astrodienst.
So if you are – say – a stealth Scorpio with Leo Rising, it’s auspicious to LOOK Leo. Even if your Scorpionic psyche shrivels at the mere thought of big hair, bling and a 20 metre radius ostentatious entitlement scent from a designer/model/celebrity you personally feel a psychological affinity with.
Aquarius Rising means you’re “ruled” by Uranus. Or, because nobody “rules” Aqua Rising, it’s more like Uranus rays transmit into their neural matrix while the Aquarius Rising person astral trips every 16 hours (approximately). What other people see as “on time” or “contemporary” or “in touch” is very much “w.t.f. that is another era” to Aquarius Rising.
Although, like David Bowie, above, they can turn on a genius costume/character/alter-ego in the service of their art/commerce, many an Aquarius Rising despises “trends”. If such a phenomenon exists, Aqua Rising would be setting them not obeying.
When not in performance mode, the classic Aquarius Rising look is mono-chromatic, a thousand variations of gray, charcoal, silver, more gray and slate. Many of them are SO accustomed to feeling alien/different as a young adult that they choose it as a form of urban camouflage.
Here is Mr Bowie in September 2015, 68 and a half years old, still relevant and working his arse off. Note that he has Mars conjunct his Capricorn Sun. Uranian Zeitgeist Rays backed by the most awesome work ethic.

Aqua Rising peeps often have a horror of dressing “too young” – maybe as they revere youth? Or because they like to reinvent completely every time Uranus changes sign – that’s every seven years. Or they thrash the eccentric dressing/shock the proles scene as teenagers/early 20-somethings and are over it well before their first Saturn Return even.
Here, for example is Kim Basinger with her early tousled hair/red lips/Batman look and her vibe now. Nobody can accuse her of trying to work the same look non-stop.

Aqua Rising women suit suits and structured clothing. This is possibly a reflection of how their Ascendant was ruled by Saturn before Uranus was discovered. Flowing, draped, loose, kaftan-ish clothes freak the classic Aquarius rising person right out. They like fitted, a la Charlotte Rampling.

Despite her key cinematic image being – arguably – her Givenchy styled Breakfast At Tiffany’s look – when Audrey Hepburn retired to Rome, she reverted to archetypal Aqua Rising structured mono-chrome.

Maybe the monochromatic vibe actually enables the reception of Uranian Zeitgeist Rays. Because honestly, the main theme that comes through from trawling through the Aquarius Rising citizens of celebrity land, is that they veer between the occasional big blast of weird Ziggy-Stardust or Nicki Minaj now type costume –

…And deep Normcore. Which essentially relies on the shades of gray/monochromatic vibe. Eg, Matt Damon at the premiere of his film.

Matt Dillon in an ad – sure – but totally reflecting the Aqua Rising affinity with gray marl.

Alicia Silverstone in monochrome glory right down to the crocs.

The Uranian Zeitgeist Rays are so strong that some Aqua Rising peeps become major fashion icons, influencing the look of whole generations, their clothing choices seemingly signalling a deeper tectonic shift of vibe. The following four Aquarius Rising peeps are of that ilk.

Jim Morrison (The Doors – after Aldous Huxley’s book The Doors Of Perception which was, quoting William Blake: If the doors of perception were cleansed, everything would appear to man as it is, infinite) set the basic-bitch male rock star look for decades. Loose shirt, tight leather trousers, fuq you demeanor, poet/rebel.

Muso/Style Icon Jane Birkin personally popularized the denim/white-t-shirt as totally acceptable any place look.

And here she is recently – note the normcore and the slate/charcoal vibe.

Her daughter, the actor Charlotte Gainsbourgh is also Aquarius Rising:

And finally two of the fashion realms reigning icons were Aquarius Rising, unapologetic and fanatical style obsessed creators.
No normcore for these two:

This is Yves St Laurent with his “muse” Betty Catroux – no birth details for her but she looks so Leo.
And Wallis Simpson, the American socialite and scandal of her era. King Edward VIII abdicated his throne to marry her. Her fashion statements were fawned over as avidly as the Kardashian vicissitudes are today.
Here she is in a Salvador Dali/Elsa Schiaparelli lobster print dress.

So, to tie this together. If you are Aquarius Rising, you are either the originator of looks that influence entire generations – this is more applicable if fashion IS your form of creativity OR you are a devotee of grey marl. You reinvent consistently and you WILL be comfortable. It probably helps the Uranian Zeitgeist Rays transmit more effectively. Also, when you are Aquarius Rising, it’s not like you need to go out of your way to convince anyone you’re individuated.
