RIP JOAN of the acerbic witted tongue. I started writing this on Sept 4. I knew Joan was not going to make it.
But lots of comedians are trading jokes in heaven these days
Be careful what you talk about. Joan Rivers, the 81 year old comedian was apparently cracking jokes about dying a day before she experienced cardiac arrest on August 28 undergoing a routine surgery in a doctor’s office in Manhattan. Since then she was in a medically induced coma and has been brought out of it and is apparently on life support but out of the ICU.
I love comedy and have been a fan of Joan’s especially when she was young and appeared on the Tonight Show starring Johnny Carson. She was even given the job as guest host in 1983. Most people know of her biting wit and she does fashion crime reviews now and has a very successful line of jewellery. She has had numerous plastic surgeries, she jokes about it all.

JOAN was a GEMINI- a fast thinking, verbally obsessed whirlwind of energy. Gemini is like Peter Pan and Joan needed to look and feel young. Her infamous plastic surgeries. Communicating, selling, dual natured, quite charming. I dont think she cared what she said to people. She was like an eternal child in some ways.
Where did her infamous acid tongued humor come from? Sagittarius is the sign of humor and of course Joan had her MOON- her instincts, feelings, moods, her early childhood, her mother in Sagittarius exactly opposite her Gemini sun. Her Mother and father were tied together but opposing.
Both SUN and MOON are SQUARING MARS and conjunct JUPITER at the powerful 15th degrees of VIRGO sign of the Critic in the house of work.
She was a very fast- Jupiter- ruling the Moon-processed feelings quickly, analytical, acid tongued Martial communicator. Very hard worker and a total perfectionists all that Virgo energy and angry- MARS conjunct Jupiter. It was her own inadequacies and others taste which she made fun of. Neptune,planet of imagination, addictions in Virgo it is health and the physical body, is also closely connected in Virgo to Jupiter and Mars and Joan’s SOUTH NODE is at one degree Virgo indicating in her past lives she was also very hard working, intellectual, analytical, perhaps a real salt of the earth peasant.
with her North Node in PISCES in the 12th house in square to CHIRON, the wounded healer at zero degrees Gemini. Joan was actually a spiritual healer in disguise. With Chiron in her 2nd house of resources her tool for healing was her lightning fast tongue, her mind, her quick jibing wit which was both wound and her healing balm. Joan’s highest spiritual goal was to learn compassion, self- acceptance, charity. I m sure she often felt very alone.
JOAN SAID “Humor doesn’t come out of the good times, it comes out of the anger, pain and sorrow. Always the anger.”
Very telling of this aspect.
MERCURY at the last degree- “critical” of GEMINI- she was the COMMUNICATOR par excellence. Mercury rules Gemini. Its place in the natural 3rd house.
JOAN had LILITH the first woman, the first Feminist conjunct her Gemini Sun and opposite the Moon. She had some issues with her own mother and childhood and probable was always rebellious and ornery. Joan pushed people’s buttons and you either loved Joan or hated her.
Aries Ascendant Joan was fearless. She was an Amazon warrioress of a comedian. She fearlessly said whatever was on her fertile mind. Mars in Virgo rules her Aries Ascendant.
Saturn is Retrograde in Aquarius in the 11th house. An important man in communications would be like a manager and mentor to her- Johnny Carson. Johnny’s I.C. the roots of his chart are at 12 degrees Aquarius and his natal Saturn Mercury are at 10 and 14 degrees Scorpio in a perfect square to Joan’s Saturn indicating they had a karmic relationship. Joan was like his daughter.
Saturn is quincunx Jupiter Mars in Virgo. I really don’t know anything about her relationship with her father. I know that her husband Edgar committed suicide and the difficult aspect of Saturn to Mars Jupiter would indicate that.
Joan had Lilith opposite her independent gypsy like Sagittarius Moon which is also the highest elevated planet in her chart. Her emotions were always on display. relationships ended suddenly for Joan. She wasnt afraid to be reviled. she was very strong in herself, Uranus in Aries in her 1st house makes a trine to her Moon with Pluto square Uranus. A very self motivated woman. Very strong. She did it her way.
At her death:
Neptune opposite Neptune. This is a very spiritual signature. It was time for Joan to leave the planet.
CHIRON in PISCES opposite her natal Jupiter Mars in Virgo- a quick spiritual death.
Saturn and Mars transiting her 8th house of death. Saturn has been squaring Joan’s sun for the last few months, turning Direct at 16 degrees Scorpio.
Sun is conjunct her Neptune. The light to heaven
Jupiter in Leo is opposite Saturn and trining her Moon.
transmitting Venus on her South Node. she leaves with love.
