Paolo Antonio Foscarini (1565-1616) was an Italian Carmelite father, philosopher and scientist, whose 1615 attempt to publish a letter supporting Pythagorean and Copernican opinion about the nature of the solar system was condemned by the Roman Inquisition, along with the writings of Galileo and Copernicus.
