David Masao Zimmerman (b. 1994) was awarded best of category and first place in the 2013 Intel International Science and Engineering Fair for his microbiology project. He also received the Dudley R. Herschbach SIYSS Award. He attends the Brentwood School, Los Angeles, California, U.S.A.
