Conductor Ikuma Dan (1924-2001), grandson of financier Takuma Dan, was a leading member of the Art Academy of Japan. He composed symphonies, songs and operas, including the celebrated Yuzuru ("The Evening Crane"). The name was suggested by K. Tomita, who was a classmate at Aoyama Gakuin High School.
