Takaotengu is a legendary supernatural creature on Mt. Takao, the history of which dates back to 1300 or earlier as a holy place in the western part of Tokyo. Tall and strong, Takaotengu had a long nose on his red face and wings on his back. He was able to fly and had the power to spawn thunderstorms.
