Sendai Otsunahiki is a 400-year-old tug-of-war festival, held in Satsumasendai City in the evening of the day before the Autumnal Equinox. Japan's biggest tug-of-war rope, “Sendai Otsuna”, 365 meters in length and six tons in weight, is used for the festival.
