Wakabayashi is named for Wakabayashi-ku, a ward in the southeastern part of the city of Sendai {see planet  (3133)}. About 400 years ago the warlord who founded Sendai city, Date Masamune {see planet  (6859)}, spent his last days in this area. (M 25230) _ _.
