Matyáš Gryll of Gryllov (1551–1611), a professor at Prague University, took a particular interest in comets. In 1578 he published a survey of comets discovered until 1577, although he considered the comets to be miraculous signs from God. (M 46012) The name was suggested by J. Tichá. _ _.
