Evpatoria (Eupatoria) is one of the oldest towns in the Crimea. Founded in the fifth century B.C. by ancient Greek colonists, Evpatoria is now known as a health resort and cultural center. This minor planet marks the occasion of the 2500th anniversary of the town in 2003.
