As a youth Victor Chang (1936–1991) emigrated from China to Sydney, where he later trained as a heart surgeon. There in the 1980s he set up the first transplant center in Australia. His skill and technical improvements achieved the world’s highest rate of patient survival. (M 45341) _ _.
