Located on the Irsha river, the ancient city of Malyn in Ukraine is noted for the museum of Nikolaj Miklukho-Maklaj (1846-1888), a prominent ethnologist, biologist, and anthropologist. His place of birth is not definitely known, but the city has been considered a possibility.
