Herman de Coninck (1944-1997) was a Flemish poet and critic. His poems are profound and yet accessible. The winner of many literary prizes in Flanders, he is also appreciated for his Intimiteit onder de Melkweg (“Intimacy below the Milky Way”, 1994), a collection of essays on poetry.
