Helvetia is an allegorical figure, similar to Justitia. She is a symbol for the nation of Switzerland (Latin: Confoederatio Helvetica), which has combined four different cultures and languages in peaceful coexistence since 1848. Each Swiss stamp carries her name, and her figure appears on most Swiss coins.
