Named for a Japanese commander of the Heike, Taira-no Tadamori (1096–1153), father of Taira-no Kiyomori {see planet  (4375)}. Tadamori was a man well-educated in classics, and he laid the foundation for his son’s assumption of control over the country. (M 19696)
