Ukmerge is a city with 22 000 inhabitants in Vilnius County, Lithuania, located 78 km north-west of Vilnius. Ukmerge was first mentioned in 1225. The city is located near the confluence of the Vilkmerge River and the Sventoji River, and it obtained its Magdeburg city rights in 1486.
