Jozef Murgaš (1864–1929), an inventor and pioneer in the field of radiotelegraphy, was the first anywhere in the world to broadcast the spoken word. In 1904 he was granted two patents from the U.S. Patent Office for his “Tonsystem”. Altogether he registered twelve patents, all concerning radiotelegraphy. (M 45342)
