Toshio Haneda (1910-1992) was a comet hunter from Minamisoma city (formerly Haramachi city), Fukushima prefecture, He discovered comet D/1978 R1 (Haneda-Campos) on 1978 Sept. 1. He was then the world's oldest living comet discoverer. The name was suggested by H. Sato.
