Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel (1770-1831) is a very important philosopher of German idealism. The method and content of his thinking is the dialectic. He lectured at Jena during 1801--1807. He had great influence during the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, and many later philosophers refer to him.
