Dido (also named Elissa) was the daughter of Belus, king of Tyre. Her husband Sichaeus was secretly murdered for his money by her brother Pygmalion. She went to Africa, founded Carthage, and became its queen. When Aeneas {see planet  (1172)} came to Carthage on his way to Italy after the Trojan War, Dido fell in love with him. When he left for Italy she uttered a curse against the Trojans and then stabbed herself with her sword. (Z 86) _ _.
