Raymond E. White, Jr. (1933-2004) worked on globular clusters and archaeoastronomy but was best known and admired for his commitment to teaching and for his work as an advisor to undergraduates. Between 1964 and 1999 he was progressively an instructor, lecturer and professor at the University of Arizona.
