Named for the westernmost Austrian province, until 1918 part of the state of Tirol {see planet  (6439)}. Its capital is Bregenz (Brigantium), on Lake Constance. Vorarlberg is a mountainous region and an important center for cattle-breeding and dairy-farming. (M 25978) _ _.
