Alexander (Sasha) Krot (b. 1959) is a world-class cosmochemist who has made many contributions to the field of meteoritics. His achievements include the discovery of an energetic astrophysical setting for chondrule formation and identifying the existence of an ¹⁶Oxygen-rich gaseous reservoir in the solar nebula.
