Bilk is the district in the city of Düsseldorf where in 1843 Johann Benzenberg established a private observatory that he bequeathed to the city. C. Robert Luther discovered 24 minor planets from the observatory at Bilk during 1852-1890. The observatory was destroyed in 1943.
