Herbert Hefele (b. 1942) is a retired staff astronomer at the Astronomisches Rechen-Institut. He served for decades as an editor of the renowned bibliography Astronomy and Astrophysics Abstracts and also as an excellent librarian of the ARI. The name was suggested by the first discoverer.
