Hugo Schwarz (1953-2006) was a Dutch astronomer who specialized in the late stages of stellar evolution and stellar polarimetry. At the time of his death he was a staff astronomer at Cerro Tololo Inter-American Observatory and President of IAU Commission 50. Name suggested by H. Van Winckel.
