Gustav Leonhardt (1928-2012), Dutch harpsichord player and conductor, was the founder of the Leonhardt Consort, dedicated to performing baroque music on period instruments. In 1971, together with N. Harnoncourt and his Concentus Musicus, Leonhardt initiated the first complete recording of Bach's Cantatas.
