Luca Bindi (b. 1971) holds the Chair of Mineralogy and Crystallography at the University of Florence, Italy. He has received many national and international scientific awards, including the President of the Republic Prize 2015 of the Lincei Academy. He is renowned for the discovery of quasicrystals in nature.
