Named in honor of Yasuyo Kineya, the stage name of Nobuko Shimamura (1920– ), elder sister of the discoverer. Ever since her youth, she has devoted herself to Japanese traditional music, especially to Nagauta and Shamisen, and she is still active as a performer.
