Asaka is reclaimed land in Koriyama city, Fukushima prefecture. In 2005 Koriyama became a sister city of Tottori, where the Saji Observatory is located. This naming was suggested by Koriyama citizens to commemorate the tenth anniversary of the sister-city relationship.
