Älvsjö, now a residential suburb of Stockholm, is the location of the battle of Brännkyrka (1518), in which the young king-to-be Gustaf Vasa participated. More than a thousand lives were lost, and many streets of Älvsjö bear the names of men killed in the battle. (M 36127) _ _.
