Ball Aerospace and Technology Corporation has contributed to the scientific investigation of minor planets and comets through the development of instruments for the Hubble and Spitzer telescopes, the planned Widefield Infrared Survey Explorer and the spacecraft for the Deep Impact mission to comet 9P/Tempel.
