Nicolae Coculescu (1866-1952) was a Romanian astronomer who founded and became the first director of the Bucharest Astronomical Observatory in 1908. His interests and doctoral studies at Sorbona were in planetary perturbations and celestial mechanics. He was also a professor at the University of Bucharest.
