Daniel Pequignot (b. 1945), astronomer at Paris Observatory, worked on modeling and spectroscopy of nebulae. He discovered heavy elements in nebulae, Raman lines in planetary nebulae and deuterium Balmer lines in the optical spectrum of HII regions.
