Xie Xiaosi (1905-2008), known as the 'Guardian of World Cultural Heritage', was a famous Chinese garden landscape artist and painter. He made many important contributions in the areas of protection, restoration and rescue of classical gardens and cultural heritage in the ancient city of Suzhou.
