Ming Naiben (b. 1935), a professor at Nanjing University and an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, introduced the quasi-crystal structure in dielectric super-lattice, established the multiple quasi-phase-matching theory and realized frequency doubling and direct frequency tripling of light efficiently.
