Ampleforth, a tranquil village on the edge of the North Yorkshire Moors in the north of England, is home to the Benedictine community of Ampleforth Abbey. The discoverer was educated at Ampleforth College, and his stepfather is buried in the churchyard of Our Lady and St. Benedict's.
