Italian astronomer Virgilio Trettenero (1822–1868) succeeded Santini {see planet  (4158)} as professor of astronomy at Padua. At the observatory there he observed minor planets, comets and eclipses and calculated orbits and ephemerides. (M 45339) _ _.
