Jean Godin des Odonais (1713-1792) was the nephew of Louis Godin, one of the members of the La Condamine expedition in Peru. In May 1736 he joined the expedition and married Isabel de Casa Mayor, an heiress from a very wealthy family. Back in France he composed a grammar for the quichua language.
