Your ruling planet is Mercury, the communicator, so it’s good news that on the 3rd, Mercury turns direct after three weeks retrograde, i.e. on go slow. Mercury retrograde can coincide with communication chaos, mishaps or misunderstandings.
Sometimes it signifies an inner confusion or a period when you chop and change your mind. So Mercury’s change of direction is the cosmic equivalent of a green light. You may find that new information comes to light and you can start to make major decisions with confidence.
Mercury turns direct in the fire sign Aries ruling your joint finances and shared resources. In addition, Mercury is at the same point in the zodiac as unpredictable Uranus so there may be some surprises in store once Mercury’s back up to speed.
This is a volatile combination which favours risk-taking but as you’re one of the earth signs, you might not feel comfortable about risky money matters or radical financial plans. If you’re a typical Virgo, you favour security over a high-risk strategy so listen carefully to your intuition before leaping in.
Yet if you have to act or make a money-related decision, now is a good time to do so. Plus the planet of relating Venus is also in Aries so other people are on your side and it’s an excellent time to get expert advice.
Aries highlights all kinds of joint money matters, including taxes, inheritance, savings and debts, money owed, money borrowed. You may have to act quickly to get the best deals but Aries favours action.
There’s another planet joining the party this month too and this is helpful to you. Saturn has many qualities that are akin to the earth signs. Saturn is the planet of responsibility, discipline, hard work and favours long-term projects over short-term gain.
This month on the 19th there’s a major planetary aspect between Saturn in Sagittarius and your home and family sector and Uranus in Aries. This combination helps you to make the right kind of deal. If you’re involved in any property matter, use this timeframe to move things forward.
It’s about creating something new out of something old and there’s a sense of renewal. You might be able to return to a previous transaction or deal that didn’t come off earlier in the year. May has a theme of second chances and if March and April proved frustrating, you can now get ahead.
It’s also a good time to team up with family members to help each other out. This might mean asking someone for a loan or pooling resources. There may also be movement on the home or family front that benefits you when you work as a group.
Don’t get carried away spending this month but do invest wisely. There’s a chance to lay strong foundations that are likely to last.
Work and career are also under the cosmic spotlight this month. Action planet Mars is at the peak of your chart in the sign of Gemini. This is an ambitious placing for Mars and there may be new developments with regard to your working life.
In fact, on the 12th and 31st, Mars teams up with planets in your money sectors so look out for a new contract, a chance to nail a deal that helps you either professionally or financially. It’s not plain sailing throughout the month however and it could be that someone close to you isn’t so fortunate now.
Events on the 11th or 29th may show where you’re under pressure or someone close finds that things aren’t going their way. You might have to duck and dive a little this month to take advantage of Mars’ strength. This could mean shift work, doing two jobs or sharing work responsibilities.
The best date is the 25th when there’s a glorious New Moon in Gemini. This is a good date to apply for a job, to start something new related to your career or vocation. New Moons are a symbol of new beginnings so use this positive planetary energy to get things started to step your work up a level.
This is also a good month to travel or sign up for a course. The sign of Taurus is strong throughout May and Taurus is a fellow earth sign. The Sun is here until the 20th and your ruling planet Mercury returns to Taurus on the 16th.

The Full Moon on the 10th is another important date for travel or study related plans. Trust your intuition and expand your horizons. If you’re feeling frazzled or stressed due to work or money pressures, even more reason to ensure that you take time out. A change of scene could help you shift your perspective. When it comes to love and relationships, this is potentially a sexy month. If you’re in a relationship or married, prioritise your sex life especially if intimacy has been lacking of late. You’re also wise to get to grips with practical matters, including money.
Love planet Venus is no longer in romantic Pisces so take off the rose-coloured glasses and move a relationship or liaison in a new direction. Be bold when it comes to love and refuse to put up with a less than satisfactory relationship situation.
