German sculptor Ernst Rietschel (1804–1861), a pupil of Rauch {see planet  (5266)}, created in the classicistic style. His main works are the bronze sculptures of Lessing {see planet  (7425)} in Braunschweig and Luther {see planet  (7100)} in Worms.
