Michael Sandras (b. 1963) has almost single-handedly made the Kenner Planetarium and Observatory, near New Orleans, one of the foremost astronomy education facilities in the United States. A first-rate amateur astronomer, Sandras has also served as president of the Pontchartrain Astronomy Society for many years.
