This minor planet is a tribute to all children with cancer. It is named for the discoverer's niece Aina Vandenabeele (2004 June 8-Dec. 1), daughter of Geert Vandenabeele and Elena Phalet. Known by her parents as “Pluis”, she died after a brave battle with leukemia.
