Hugo de Paepe (b. 1940) is a doctor of medicine and a specialist in orthopaedic surgery, lecturing several years at the Academic Clinic in Ghent and at the Universit'e libre de Bruxelles. Showing always a great interest in human physiology, he became a good friend of the discoverer.
